Director’s Notes
We actors (and directors) like the spotlight, but the true St Michael’s Players’ stars are the crew, who turn our humble church hall into a place where the imagination can soar. Alastair has steered the whole ship, while his vision for the setting, and Arabella and her painters’ execution, have created a woodland wonderland. Vicki and Sue create costume and prop magic on a shoestring. This year Alice K shed her Buttons coat to work tirelessly on set.

Thank you one and all, cast and crew. It has been a joy. Kudos to my family for surviving my 4am wanderings and note-making; a special shoutout to Sarah B (Watson) who is the most positive and enthusiastic new member St Michael’s Players could ever wish for.

And thank you, our amazing audience. Enjoy the show and by all means sing along!

"I had so much fun!" Kim R

"Excellent fun at the panto last night. Impossible not to make you smile. We loved it" Siena C

"Hi panto cast and crew - my head is still spinning from your amazing performances tonight.  Really fantastic - smooth and slick and funny.  I keep remembering certain lines and smiling to myself.  A bit weird in company but there you go … Breathtaking set - phew, it completely changes the stage and space/sense of space.  Sorry I couldn’t speak to each of you in turn to tell you how great you were.  See you soon - Tessa xxxx P.S. Happy Christmas 🎄🤩🥳🎉🎁" Tessa D

“Saw Snow White last night. Fabulous show  one of the best. Wonderful choice of songs and use of 'pop singers' as chorus a brilliant idea. Utterly joyous evening - a great start to Christmas. 🎅🏻💃🏻🤴🏻🎼" Linda W

"What a show!! We all absolutely loved it! Judging by how hard it is now to secure tickets, the St Michael’s Players Panto has clearly established itself as the Hot Ticket of the festive season!

Huge thanks to all members of the cast and band for the vast amount of work that must have gone into that. It absolutely nailed it on every level - superb acting with comic timing being delivered to perfection, fabulous scenery, props and costumes, a complete joy! And what a treat to have the live band as an integral part of the show!

… and you’re welcome to quote me on any of that!" Cherry R

"My Christmas begins every year with your Panto🎄 laughter, silliness, happy tears, old/new friends dressing up in the most amazing/ridiculous costumes, giving their all. Another success on your hands. Merry Christmas everyone 🎄💚" Isabelle M
