Singing in the Wilderness (David Campton) &
Alternative Accommodation (Pam Valentine) (19-22 july 2017)
Poster
'Singing in the Wilderness' was written in 1986 but sadly its ecological themes are even more pressing than they were then. I hope that the lovable, fairy characters will entertain you and I also hope that you will recognize them rather as nature spirits who represent the 421 species of mammals, birds & plants that have become extinct in the UK over the last 200 years and might consider supporting Friends of the Earth's excellent campaigns to fight 'The Bee Cause' & 'Air Pollution'
Anna is 70 and recently widowed, and her children have got together (without her) to plan her future. Their decisions are supported by her apparent decline into dementia. They are shocked to find she has her own, very different, plans. We performed another of Pam Valentine's plays, A Dog's Life, in 2013 |
